Cornbread Dressing

This cornbread dressing is rich, flavorful, and a perfect complement to any turkey.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage (or more to taste)
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 7×11-inch baking dish. Place crumbled cornbread in a large bowl.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and celery and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until soft.
  3. Add the sautéed vegetables to the crumbled cornbread. Stir in chicken stock, beaten eggs, sage, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Pie Crust Cookies

These delightful pie crust cookies are simple, crispy, and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar – perfect for an easy dessert or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 premade pie crust
  • All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1½ tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the premade pie crust on a floured surface to ⅛-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes.
  3. Transfer the cut-outs to the prepared baking sheets, leaving a small space between each one.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then brush the tops of each cookie with the mixture. Discard any leftover egg mixture.
  5. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt, and sprinkle it over the cookies.
  6. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and brush each cookie with melted butter. Let them cool slightly before serving.
